Just inside the door of this church you will find the pew with
the mermaid. with her full story.
In short. A lonely mermaid had a desire to
visit the church at Upper Sheringham, when she arrived there a service was in
progress and she was turned away by the Beadle. Not deterred by this the
mermaid waited until no one was looking then quietly slipped in and sat on the
rear pew. Which is where you can see her to this day.
