The church in Irstead dates back to the 14th century and remains almost exactly as it was when building of the south aisle was completed in 15th century. Although the east window of the church has been recently resored.To the left can be seen part of the screen, only the base remains. Below is the octagonal 14th century font, which includes panels of St. John the Baptists head on a charger and St. Veronica's veil with the Sacred Head imprinted on it. Bottom left is a wall painting the is said to include St. Christopher. |
